US Army awards Integrated Base Defense (IBD) and Force Protection Family of Systems (FOS) (IBD-SS) Contract

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, MD – The U.S. Army announces a contract award with General Dynamics Global Forces, LLC (GDGF) on behalf of Product Manager Force Protection Systems (PM FPS) and Product Manager Ground Sensors (PM GS) for the procurement of program management support of Integrated Base Defense (IBD) and Force Protection Family of Systems (FOS) (IBD-SS).

The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground, Fort Belvoir Division, awarded a competitive Task Order against IDIQ Contract Number Contract Number W15P7T-17-D0148, Task Order W909MY-25-F0055 to General Dynamics Global Forces, LLC (GDGF), under the Responsive Strategic Sourcing for Services (RS3) Contract. The period of performance, if all options are exercised, is sixty months which is comprised of a 12-month base period and four (4) 12-month option periods for a total amount of $580,006,447.00.

IBD-SS provides services to include comprehensive training, contractor logistics, as well as operator and sustainment support services, to include material procurement of equipment and provides capabilities in both the Contiguous United States (CONUS) and Outside Contiguous United States (OCONUS) locations. Twelve systems belonging to PM FPS and PM GS are associated with the support of the contract.

“The awarded Task Order consolidates requirements from both PM FPS and PM GS, enabling the Government to gain efficiencies through streamlined sustainment of critical force protection and ground sensor capabilities worldwide,” said Lt. Col. Matthew Einhorn, Product Manager FPS. “The systems sustained under this Task Order act as a force multiplier, both CONUS and OCONUS, and protect the Warfighter by increasing situational awareness while enhancing national security.”

IBD-SS requires an efficient program management approach to integrate multiple product support activities to include, but are not limited to, sparing, warehouse management, maintenance, transportation, shipping, fielding, equipment operator training, contractor equipment operators, Field Service Representatives (FSR), systems sustainment and design engineering, and supplier or total asset visibility management of IBD and FOS.
