Tianna Gregory is a systems engineer on the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Modernization team supporting the development of the Assured PNT card for the C5ISR/Electronic Warfare Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS) Mounted Form Factor (CMFF).

Tianna Gregory officially joined Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Modernization in February 2023 as a systems engineer after spending the previous year working with the PM PNT Systems Engineering team on the Dismounted Assured PNT System (DAPS). While on the Systems Engineering team, Gregory had the opportunity to assist with work leading up for the DAPS Milestone C decision, participating in various testing events and even her first Soldier touchpoint. According to Gregory, she enjoyed the fast-paced nature of the PM, and when given the chance to be a permanent addition after completing her developmental assignment, she jumped at the opportunity.

Now, on the PNT Modernization team, Gregory supports the C5ISR/Electronic Warfare Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS) Mounted Form Factor (CMFF) effort. CMFF is made up of a chassis and multiple capability cards, each loaded with various capabilities like waveforms, mission command applications, etc. Gregory and her team are responsible for developing the Assured PNT (APNT) card, which will eventually be included as part of the overall CMFF system. In this role, Gregory provides systems engineering expertise to her team to ensure the card has the technical framework necessary to deliver a successful card capability.

While she says she enjoys many parts of her current role, her favorite part is getting to learn something new every day. Gregory credits the mentorship of supervisor, Joe Stevanak, technical director, along with her interactions with other PMS within the Program Executive Office Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Sensors (PEO IEW&S) and Program Executive Office Command, Control, Communications, and Network (PEO C3N) for many opportunities to learn, as well as her engagements with others in different functional areas within PM PNT.

When asked about her proudest accomplishments at PNT Modernization, Gregory points to being recipient of the Hero of the Week award for supporting the effort to move equipment from the Open Innovation Lab to the C5ISR Prototype Integration Facility. She, with support from her team, employed a multipronged approach that moved pertinent equipment in a manner to allow for the team to meet all programmatic scheduling commitments.

Before coming to PM PNT, Gregory worked in sustainment as a logistics management specialist at Communications and Electronics Command (CECOM), beginning her civilian service in March 2021. Prior to that, she served as an intern at the Department of Army Civilian Logistics Career Management Office at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia.

Gregory holds a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from George Mason University and was recently accepted into the University of Maryland Baltimore County’s Data Science Master’s Program (though, she may forego that educational opportunity for a different program). According to Gregory, whatever she does, she just wants to continue to grow and take on more challenging roles that push her out of her comfort zone.
