The 2024 Army Acquisition Executive’s (AAE) Excellence in Leadership Awards were announced in a ceremony at the Pentagon on January 10. The event was hosted by the Honorable Douglas R. Bush, Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology) and streamed on dvidshub.net. (You can enjoy a video replay of the ceremony at https://www.dvidshub.net/webcast/35565.)
“Today we pause, thank, and recognize amazing individuals who have done outstanding work…from groundbreaking advancements in technology, streamlining and making more efficient our processes to enable acquisition at speed…and innovations and skills that define our acquisition community,” said Bush.
Among the 2024 AAE award winners is Jason C. Tatom, who received the Outstanding Grants or Agreements Professional of the Year. Tatom serves as the Program Manager of the Consortium for Command Control Communications in Cyberspace (C5) Other Transaction Authority (OTA) Program Management Office (PMO) and is responsible for the execution and management of projects that are administered under the C5 OTA Agreement. His leadership and direct efforts enabled utilization of the C5 OTA by multiple Army and Department of Defense (DoD) organizations that coordinated and awarded 82 contract actions on new and existing prototype projects valued at over $380M in obligations over the last year.
Under these agreements, the AAE praised the speed and flexibility to acquire and field high demand integrated capabilities. Tatom’s achievements support the contracting enterprise and are providing Warfighters with cutting-edge technologies that support DoD Modernization priorities and Multi-Domain Operations.
“Mr. Tatom’s exceptional acquisition competence, outstanding stakeholder engagement, and leadership abilities have provided an invaluable legacy to the United States Army Acquisition Corps,” said Kenneth W. Strayer, Project Manager Electronic Warfare and Cyber (PM EW&C).
Prior to becoming a Department of the Army Civilian within the U.S. Army Acquisition Corps Tatom served more than 22 years on active duty and in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Field Artillery Officer and Operations Research / Systems Analysis (ORSA) Officer.
The C5 OTA PMO is headquartered at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., and is part of the Program Executive Office for Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Sensors (PEO IEW&S) and PM EW&C.
