ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, MD – The Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) announced that NextGen Federal Systems was awarded a Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract with an initial delivery order valued at $2.9 million for initial acquisition, tailoring, integration and testing of the Weather Operational Effects Intelligence Application. This is the first delivery order on the IDIQ which has a ceiling of up to $22 million to support all development, integration, testing, training, license procurement and maintenance across the next five years.
The Weather Operational Efforts Application contributes to the Army’s readiness by providing critical weather insights for operational planning and execution tailored for Army operations and systems, and plays a vital role in developing situational awareness, supporting decision-makers, and facilitating mission accomplishment.
“This effort is significant in enhancing intelligence capabilities within the U.S. Army as it aims to provide leap-ahead software capabilities, enabling intelligence professionals to work with increased speed, precision, and accuracy across the Multi-Domain Intelligence (MDI) Framework, Multi-Domain Operations, and Joint All-Domain Operations,” said Col. Chris Anderson, Project Manager for Intelligence Systems and Analytics.
The Weather Operational Effects Intelligence App is the third component of the Intel Apps program that begins with four applications. It joins the already awarded Intelligence Support to Targeting and All Source II applications as well as the upcoming Intelligence Collection Management App. These applications align to the Army’s modernization in support of MDI as well as Long Range Precision Fires.
