The Ft Monmouth Pruden Auditorium, was the site for a momentous occasion on Aug 5, as 15 members of the Program Executive Office -Intelligence, Electronic Warfare & Sensors (PEO IEW&S) officially concluded their long and extremely valuable careers in serving their country as government civilians.

In what would be the last retirement ceremony conducted at Ft Monmouth, which is due to close in September as a part of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure act, Maj. Gen. Randolph Strong, commanding general Communications-Electronic Command and Brig. Gen. Harold Greene, Program Executive Officer for IEW&S honored the employees that worked in support on many of the Army’s most important systems. While members of PEO IEW&S they played vital roles in fielding various systems currently being used by Soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq for targeting, situational awareness, force protection and reconnaissance, surveillance and target acquisition.

The event served as an opportunity for many current and past members of PEO IEW&S to come together and reflect upon the numerous contributions they made both as individuals and as a team while serving within the PEO. The retiring workers held positions ranging from engineering to administrative support and program analysis.

In addressing the audience Greene spoke about his previous assignment at Ft Monmouth and the impression the workforce made on him.

“What I found here was a group of people with an important mission who vigorously went after getting the very best they could for our Soldiers,” noted Greene. ” I would like to thank all of you, in Team C4ISR, for everything you did to put the best C4ISR kit we could in the hands of the Soldiers who do such a great job defending our country.”
